Answers to your questions about Safety!

It is very safe to use our specially formulated make-up to airbrush designs on your face, skin or hair.

Is face painting with an airbrush safe?

Yes, it's actually safer than regular face painting. Face painting with an airbrush is much less likely to transfer infections caused by bacteria because we do not use a wet brush to apply the makeup. Fantasy faces also uses only safe cleaning agents to clean our airbrushes. Our airbrushes are designed to use very low air pressure which is controlled at the compressor with special low pressure regulators. Because of the low pressure used, overspray is also not a problem. The amount of make-up used to paint an average face is only a few drops.

Will the face paint get in my or my child's eyes?

Our eyes have special reflexes to prevent things from getting in them. If you blow on a child's face, they automatically shut their eyes, adults also will close their eyes if air is blown on it. Our technicians ask you to close your eyes so that even if some of our make-up did accidentally get into your eye, it would only cause a mild irritation for a few minutes.

What type of face paint do you use?

Actually, we do not use paint. Our face painting make-up is actually make-up. It is made of FDA approved, cosmetic grade materials and is specially formulated to be used in an airbrush. It is water based and easily washes off with mild soap and water. It is designed to be safe and non-irritating. Acrylic or oil based paints should NEVER be used in painting faces.

How about the glitter that you use? Will it scratch me?

No, our glitter is specially made for face painting. There is no metal used, only soft materials, so it can't scratch the skin or eyes. Metallic glitters should NEVER be used in face painting.
